Launch of the cooperation with LEROY MERLIN CHINA

April 20th morning, the cooperation between China and studio and CHINA LEROY MERLIN is launched, this company specializes in the field of interior decorations. the ceremony has three parts.

First part, Aude Hazard, responsible of china studio, introduces to students the general situation of a store in Beijing of LEROY MERLIN with pictures, photographed last week on site, reflecting many places for improvement. Such as the entrance, where many bicycles are parked; the plateau on which written ‘Makes your dream home come true’, but Chinese translation ‘实现 梦想家’ does not mention much about interior decoration; the translation of the brand ‘乐华梅兰’ is a bit long; the signs of Management and the plan are not clearly shown, etc. In this part, students asked many pertinent questions.

In the second part, Hadas Zucker, an excellent designer who will follow this project. She shares her concept with the students in title ‘Why pollution works? ‘ which evokes the interest of students.

Part Three, a representative Jean-François, who handles the department of purchases and products, introduces to students the general situation of the group ADEO which includes a dozen brands and he also informs some figures of the growth and stores planned in 2025, he present the photos of the store in Beijing at the opening in 2004, and shares with them their values. They appreciate ecology, cooperation, adaptation etc. They can offer special solutions.

The ceremony begins at 9:00 am and ends at 12: 00h in a friendly and dynamic atmosphere. This is a good start for our cooperation.

与乐华梅兰合作项目正式启动
4月20日上午，南特大西洋设计学院中国工作室与乐华梅兰合作项目正式启动。乐华梅兰始终致力于室内装修设计。启动仪式分为三部分。
首 先，工作室负责人Aude Hazard向与会人员介绍了乐华梅兰的概况，并用PPT展示了其店内陈设。拍摄图片显示出诸多地方有待改良。诸如，超市入口停放太多自行车；中文标语 “实现梦想家”并不能太多的让人联想到室内装修设计；商标中文名“乐华梅兰”显得稍长；导向标和室内布局图不醒目，等等。这个环节中，同学们提出了许多中 肯的问题。
随后，资深设计师，同时也是该项目的主任设计师Hadas Zucker和同学们分享了她的设计理念，做了题为“why pollution works?”的精彩演讲，激起了同学们极大的兴趣。
最 后，乐华梅兰的代表，采购部兼产品部负责人Jean-François向同学们介绍了ADEO集团的概况，展示了乐华梅兰2004年成立初时的店面布局， 透露了2025年的开店数量预期和增长预期，分享了他们的理念，环保，合作，本土化。展示了他们致力于提供专业的室内装修设计解决方案的决心。
启动仪式上午9时开始，于12时在一片友好，活跃的氛围中结束，展示出值得期待的合作前景！

Happy new Transcultural design year 2015!

They will present the third stage end of febuary 2011, then they will go for 6 months working as intern in different prestigious design companies.

The Chinese program of L’Ecole de design Nantes Atlantique is now based in Shanghai. 210 square meters dedicate to creativity, design managment, human sciences and marketing. Here with Lynette Chan during a creative worshop. 15 Students are preparing their master, 15 others are interns in different major agencies or companies around Asia.

On Monday the 26th of April, the Chinese program of L’Ecole de design Nantes Atlantique launched a new design workshop. Dedicated to the brand « Haier », it gathers 35 design students from 5 different schools:

-   Tsinghua University 清华
-   Tongji University 同济
-   Shandong Art and Design University 山东工业美术学院
-   Qingdao University 青岛大学
-   L’Ecole de design Nantes Atlantique / China Campus 法国南特大西洋设计学院

For one week, students will work on the “kitchen” and will have to use their cross-cultural skills to answer the brief.

Ma Han, Design Project Manager at Haier

Based in Qingdao, Haier is a global manufacturer group in many product and service fields (electronic goods, small electric appliances, white goods, real estate, cleaning services…).

Haier’s particularity is to be able to manufacture and manage many ranges of products to launch global solutions. For example its « kitchen » business, includes kitchen furniture, white goods (refrigerator, oven, hood…), kitchen accessories (sink, hot water boiling tank, storage…), small domestic appliances (blender, coffee machine, toaster…) and services (cleaning, security guards, maintenance…).

This variety allows Haier designers to work on complete user experiences and not only on products. This way of doing design is well represented by its U-Home concept that symbolizes a connected system (using Internet and telecommunication technologies).

On this first day, students had to determine a target (independent Chinese women, rural inhabitants, experts…), one society trend (health, hygiene, wealth…) and one kitchen trend (minimalist, high-tech…).

On Friday the 2^nd of April, Chinese students of Qingdao University taught arts and cultural customs to students of the China based design school of L’Ecole de design Nantes Atlantique.

All of them had a lot of fun…

Program: taijiquan 太极拳, calligraphy 书法, Bejing opera 京剧, tea ceremony, traditional songs, hand-held fan dance, kite festival history, Chinese traditional legends…

On the 16th of March, the French 4th year students of the Chinese Campus of L’Ecole de design Nantes Atlantique met the Chinese students of Qingdao University. Specialised in French language, these students were welcome to meet with the French and find a partner to lead further on an anthropological study in China.

For 60 minutes, students did one-to-one three-minute small meetings to get to know each other.

They finally came up with 20 groups.

They will meet again next week.

The Chinese Campus of L’Ecole de design Nantes Atlantique has launched a new website to communicate about its program (curriculum, class, teachers, industrial partners, design projects) and students life in China.

L’Ecole de design Nantes Atlantique is a French design school. It opened a new subsidiary in China in September 2008. It welcomes 40 French, Chinese and international students for 2 years and teaches them design at a Master’s degree level.

Each year, students do an internship in a China based design studio or in a inhouse design center.
