Transcultural Design China

On the 28th of November, in Shanghai, the China based campus of L’Ecole de design Nantes Atlantique will celebrate its 1st anniversary in China.

After one year of activity in China, the annual figures and facts of the China based campus of L’Ecole de design Nantes Atlantique speak for themselves:
- 750 Hours of class,
- 150 China-based teachers and professionals gathered in a strong network,

Christian Guellerin is now with the China Campus team in Beijing where he represents Cumulus as a president and L’Ecole de design Nantes Atlantique as a director. He actively participates in the Icograda Beijing 2009 host by the renowned China Central Academy of Fine Arts 中央美术学院.

L’Ecole de design Nantes Atlantique will participate in the Icograda Education Network show in Beijing from the 24th to the 30th of October 2009.
Co-organised by Cumulus network, this event will be held during the 2009 Beijing Icograda World Design Congress. It will offer 21 universities the opportunity to present their programmes and their students achievements. [Read more →]

On Wednesday the 24th of June, the 4th year students of the Chinese programme of L’Ecole de design Nantes Atlantique celebrated the end of the semester.

On April 18, 2009 the 13 students enrolled in the curriculum offered by L’École de design Nantes Atlantique’s Chinese subsidiary seized the opportunity to showcase their projects during the international Ecodesign Fair 2009 held in Shanghai. [Read more →]

Between the 17th and 18th of April, the students will participate in the Eco Design Fair 2009 in Shanghai. They will present there their works on bamboo stems.

Eco Design Fair : Event meant to propose sustainalble products to Shanghai citizens, it gathers products from over 30 eco-conscious businesses and groups include organic clothing, home accessories, furniture, natural beauty products, stationary, toys, building materials, organic food products plus more information on developing a more sustainable lifestyle. On Friday the 27th of February, the students have been to the Qingdao French Alliance for a curious event: a “Speed Meeting” with Chinese students. [Read more →]

After 4 months of internships, the students had to present the different projects they worked on during their training session.

10 students over 11 had done their internship in Shanghai and one in Guangzhou.

10 students worked on product design projects and 3 of them on interior design.

3 of them worked for Chinese design agencies and 8 for foreign companies (German, Italian, French and Australian). [Read more →]

In July 2009, l’Ecole de design Nantes Atlantique will participate in the Design Creates Future event. It will there present the school programme in China and show some students works.
Design creates future 2009: organised by the Qingdao Industrial Design Association, this event aims at promoting the worldwide communication and exchanging of the consumer electronics between China and overseas, establishing extensive contact between producers and target clients, and accelerating the globalization of consumer electronics market.
